Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 Server, Website Maximum Bandwidth Control

One of the nice features in IIS 7 and IIS 8, which are equipped with Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 respectively is the control of the connection bandwidth.

Through this feature, you will have the ability to control how many Bytes per second your website is providing as responding to requests.

One of the practical applications is to limit the bandwidth consumption of a specific website in shared web hosting environment and prevent it from consuming higher than the fair amount as per the package offered.

It is also useful for the owners of high traffic websites to control the consumption of bandwidth and divide it evenly on daily hours.

The configuration is very easy, you need to select the website from the IIS sites tree and click on advanced settings, then look for Maximum Bandwidth (Bytes/second), and update the value to some specific number of your choice higher than 1024.
